The Chamber was founded in 1995 in Toronto, Ontario with the purpose of strengthening economic ties between Canada and Europe. Originally incorporated as The European Union Chamber of Commerce in Toronto (EUCOCIT), the organization was renamed in 2013—EUCCAN: The European Union Chamber of Commerce in Canada—with an eye to becoming a country-wide European Union (EU) platform. By 2025, EUCCAN will be the principal, unifying voice for EU business interests in Canada.
Our Mission: Working in concert with 25 EU state-based Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations and supported by the Delegation of the European Union, EUCCAN is a key resource and main point of contact for EU businesses in Canada and for EU businesses seeking to enter the Canadian market. EUCCAN operates under 3 key pillars: Advocacy, Information, Representation.
Our Core values:
- Togetherness: stemming from a common EU provenance
- Diverseness: recognizing the distinct strengths and unique and evolving needs of the 27 countries represented in our membership
- Connectedness: the force that drives business
- Responsiveness: members first
